In 1985, our private services sector, VNA Plus, was founded. VNA Plus addresses the needs of patients who require extended home care services that are not covered by Medicare. It allows us to accept additional forms of payment for our services, including private health insurances, Veteran’s Benefits, self-pay and more.
In 1987, we established our charitable arm, the Visiting Nurse Foundation (VNF) which is funded solely by donations. VNF’s charitable projects include building handicap accessible ramps in patients's homes, paying patients’ overdue utilities bills, donating Thanksgiving meals, awarding scholarships to future nursing students and much more. Our Foundation also funds our mobile medical clinic, the Florence Nightingale Express, which provides free medical care to the uninsured and indigent members of our communities.
We also own and operate three Grand Oaks assisted living communities, Grand Oaks of Okeechobee, which we opened in 2011, Grand Oaks of Jensen Beach, which we opened in 2014, and Grand Oaks of Palm City, which we opened in the fall of 2016.
Our current CEO, Jennifer Crow, is the granddaughter of our founder, Patricia Quinn Crow. She joined the VNA in 2003 as an Assistant Project Manager and has held several positions within the company, including Director of Marketing, Executive Vice President, COO, and her current position as CEO.
As we continue to grow and expand under Jennifer’s leadership, we look forward to providing our community with quality home health and senior care services for many more years to come.
