In 1987, the Visiting Nurse Association of Florida established the Visiting Nurse Foundation to serve the unmet healthcare needs of our patients. The Foundation enables us to provide life-changing medical care, and so much more, to people who otherwise would not be able to afford it.
Our 38 ft. mobile medical clinic, the Florence Nightingale Express, travels throughout the state to provide desperately needed health care to indigent families and individuals. In addition, the Visiting Nurse Foundation helps VNA of Florida patients who are in need of financial assistance and/or handicap renovations to their home, provides scholarships to high school seniors pursuing nursing as a career, donates Thanksgiving meals to families in need, provides back-to-school physicals, and so much more.
The Foundation is funded soley by donations from present and former patients, VNA employees, local businesses, community members, and fundraising events like our Annual Charity Golf Tournament, Denim & Diamonds Ball, and Annual Charity Sporting Clay Shoot. Our mission would not be possible without the generous support from our friends and community members alike.
